Jan and Gedda have been married to each other for a long time in the Beentjes of Sint-Hildegard. They have known each other for a very long time, Gedda always tries to be one step ahead of Jan. Jan longs for more freedom. When his father-in-law dies, he wants to do something about that suffocating relationship.
