女主姜眠怀了男主时宴洲的孩子，却因豪门母亲阻拦，导致二人感情破裂分开，姜眠独立拉扯孩子长大。6年后，孩子身患重病，姜眠不得不与时宴洲再度产生纠葛。。Inspired by W.G. Sebald’s book and based on WWII archive footage, the film puts forward the question: is it morally acceptable to use civilian population as a means of war? Is it possible to justify mass destruction for the sake of higher “moral” ideals? The question remains as relevant today, as it was 80 years ago, and its urgency is tragically manifested in the current event...。
