以洛阳牡丹为聚焦点的国内首部以牡丹为主题的大型电视纪录片 《牡丹》。神医元默与燕雀二人原本在凌华山编撰医书，研究疑难杂症，但一场莫名的病症打破了他们平静的生活。为研究出此病的救治方法，元默带着燕雀下山了。在这期间，一个名叫万刃阁的组织横空出世，圣子云定与圣女云止水声称带来了治病的圣水，并在四处分发中成功笼络了民心，一举成名。然而，元默研究后发现，所谓的圣水并不能根治此病，只是可以缓解病痛。与此同时，他也逐渐发现，此病竟是一种故意投放的剧毒。彼时，万刃阁乘风而起，教众已遍布各地，云定与云止水二人开始争夺教主之位，而燕雀竟然也与万刃阁有着说不清的关系。燕雀的真实身份是什么？万刃阁究竟有着怎样的目的？元默又会如何解开层层谜团，救治众生？。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。
