Their children, the HEIRS OF THE NIGHT, must be trained together to benefit from the strengths of the other cl...。故事发生在抗日战争时期，上海的民族企业家张耀堂（崔超明饰）苦心孤诣，创立了大光明纺织印染厂。但是在乱流涌动的混乱时代，民族企业有如风中的幼苗，随时都有遭受摧残蹂躏的危险。日本纱厂买办宋贻春（郑敏饰）百般倾轧，令张疲于应对。就在此时，张的儿子张伯韩（孙道临饰）从海外学成归来。他临危受命，继承了父亲的印染厂，以“工业救国”为理念，大力发展民族产品。终于挺过了最难熬的一旦时期。抗日战争结束后，宋贻春摇身一变成为官僚买办，此时他与张伯韩沆瀣一气，为了赚钱不惜伤害普通百姓的利益。化身为不法资本家的张伯韩进入了新社会，在公私合营的大趋势下，他面临重要的选择……。
